The Organizational Resilience Index (ORI) is a 56-item diagnostic instrument that measures how a team performs under sustained pressure. It covers seven dimensions.
The ORI was developed by Omar L. Harris of Intent Consulting and is delivered as a consulting engagement, not software. Team members complete an eight-minute reflective assessment. A consultant then interprets the results and connects each finding to a specific intervention.
Engagement surveys report how people feel. The ORI shows what to do about it.
How the team reads difficulty: whether setbacks count as information or as proof of failure.
The team's shared capacity to carry pressure without losing its footing in decisions, tone, or recovery.
Whether people act on what matters or wait for permission.
The ability to let go of yesterday's plan when today's conditions have changed.
Whether trust, help-seeking, and mutual support exist, and whether they get used under load.
The connection between daily work and the larger story that makes the effort worth it.
Sustained effort when recognition is sparse and the payoff is further away than anyone hoped.
Most team surveys suffer from ceiling effects: everyone rates everything highly, and the results can’t separate strength from strain. Two reverse-scored items in every dimension break that pattern. The result is the differentiation a real development conversation needs.
Define the team or organization and the demographic cuts that will reveal meaningful patterns.
Respondents complete the eight-minute assessment through a tokenized link.
The consultant analyzes the data and connects scores to specific interventions.
Findings go to leadership, and the development pathway gets designed from there.
The ORI measures resilience, and Foundational Teaming builds it. Teams often take an ORI baseline, work through the Foundational Teaming system over 90 days, and then re-measure to confirm the change held.
No. It is a consulting engagement supported by an instrument. Intent Consulting administers the assessment, interprets the results, and delivers the findings.
Engagement surveys produce percent-favorable scores and leave interpretation to the client. The ORI links each dimension's results to specific modules, conversations, and coaching pathways.
About eight minutes per respondent. The full engagement runs 90 days from baseline to follow-up.
